Our Story

Daddy’s Dahlia Farm was created in 2020 by Jim and Cory Carnazza in Edgartown, Massachusetts. Our goal was to revert part of our property back to a working farm, (previously in the 1930’s it was used as a dairy farm) Well, it’s been a long time since milking cows were on this property, The dairy farm came to its end sometime in the 1950-1960’s. We decided that a flower farm might be fun and good outdoor work. So far its turned out to be both.

Our Process

We pot-up in early spring, March thru April, once the tubers have sprouted and grown to about 12 inches high, they move from our indoor green area to an out door green house. The temperatures are keep constantly above 60 degrees.

The Pot-ups will stay there four about two weeks and finally get planted in the ground around the first week in May. First harvest is usually a month later.

The Vineyard

Martha's Vineyard is renowned for its wide range of exquisite flowers, and the Dahlia is undoubtedly amongst them. Daddy's Dahlia takes immense pride in growing best-quality Dahlias on Martha's Vineyard. With our island's temperate climate, similar to the Pacific Northwest where Dahlias grow in abundance, and rich soil, our dahlias flourish. These vibrant flowers are a popular choice for many locals and visitors alike due to their stunning blooms in a large variety of colors and sizes. Each flower receives the care and nourishment they need, right from the very beginning, to ensure every bloom is equally beautiful and carries a part of Martha’s Vineyard in each of them.
